Five decades in five minutes
The story in his own words: Petersburg, Tucson, the league, and the work he does now.
From Petersburg to the Hall of Fame
Ricky Cardell Hunley was one of ten siblings raised by Scarlette Hunley in Petersburg, Virginia. He became the first Arizona Wildcat to earn consensus All-American honors twice, went seventh overall in the 1984 NFL Draft, and played seven seasons for the Broncos, Cardinals and Raiders.
Today he serves as Executive Director of Player Relations and External Development at the University of Arizona, and gives his time to Easter Seals, the Arizona Diaper Bank, the American Heart Association, the Boys & Girls Club of Tucson, and the foster-care work of the Ricky Hunley Foundation.
